This tool implements the IEEE 1584-2018 method with both voltage paths: the 208–600V model (Equations 1, 25, 6, 10) and the 600V–15kV interpolation model. Validated against an SKM PowerTools study across 208V, 480V, and 2400V buses in all five electrode configurations (VCB, VCBB, HCB, VOA, HOA) and both enclosure branches (typical and shallow), and against a published 13.8kV HCB worked example. Arcing-current and enclosure coefficients are cross-verified against independent published reproductions of the standard's tables. The shallow-enclosure branch (Voc<600V, W&H<508mm, D≤203.2mm) is validated against SKM at 208V and 480V and correctly reduces incident energy relative to a typical enclosure. All results require PE review before use in arc flash labels or study reports.
PPE selection and labeling follow the NFPA 70E incident energy analysis method (130.5(G)): the minimum arc rating is the calculated incident energy rounded up to the next whole cal/cm², and no PPE category is shown or derived (130.5(F)). The 40 cal/cm² DANGER threshold and de-energize note are firm practice, not NFPA 70E requirements.
