Fill & Spacing (392.22)
Method. NEC 2023 392.80 tables only. 2000 V and below: multiconductor cables from Table 310.16 with the 310.15(C)(1) factor for more than three current-carrying conductors in the cable (392.80(A)(1)(a)), 95% when covered, or Annex B Table B.2(3) when spaced one diameter apart; single conductors (1/0 and larger) at 65% / 75% of Table 310.17 (60% / 70% covered), 100% when spaced one diameter apart, or Table 310.20 in triplexed groups spaced 2.15 × OD, with no grouping factor. Over 2000 V: Tables 315.60(C)(1)–(6), (9) and (10) per 392.80(B). Ambient correction per Table 310.15(B)(1)(1) or (B)(1)(2) (2000 V and below) or 315.60(D)(4); rooftop adder per 310.15(B)(2). Terminations per 110.14(C) / 110.40, compared against the same table's column at the termination rating. Fill per 392.22(A), (B), (C) and 392.80(A)(3). Sizes through 750 kcmil. Verify against the adopted code edition and the manufacturer's cable data before relying on the result.
